Rules and Regulations:

The Shop-Dine-Do Holiday contest has been brought back by popular demand! It's easy to play. Get your weekly entry blanks on Sundays in the Sunday News and on Mondays in the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era and be sure to read the paper every day Monday through Saturday in order to completely fill out your entry blanks and enter for a chance to win great prizes.

Must be 18 years old or older to be eligible to participate.
No purchase necessary to enter.
Pick up a copy of the Sunday News and the Monday combined Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era each week during the contest dates. Look for the official contest entry blanks, cut them out and be sure to use them all week. Free copies of each week's entry blanks are also available at Lancaster Newspapers downtown Lancaster offices at 8 West King Street during contest dates, Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM on a one-per-person-per-week basis. Only official contest entry blanks are valid. Machine-duplicated, hand-drawn or photocopied entry forms are invalid.
Look through the combined Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era each day, Sunday through Saturday of each contest week. Of the many participating companies running ads in the paper during the contest, there will be 3 ads each day that have the "Shop-Dine-Do Holiday" contest logo in some part of their ad. Search for and find the 3 advertisements with the contest logo. Free copies of the paper are available at the library.
In your entry blanks each day, write the name of the three companies in whose ads the contest logo appeared. The 3 companies from Monday's paper should be written in the 3 spaces next to Monday on the entry blanks. The 3 companies from Tuesday's paper should be written in the 3 spaces next to Tuesday on the entry blanks. And so on. When each week is finished, you'll have filled out three company names each day for 6 days, or a total of 18 company names on each entry blank. Company names may be occasionally repeated in the same week.
Drop your completed entry forms in the contest box at any of the participating SHOP-DINE-DO contest companies. Deadline for each week's entry is the close of business, the Wednesday following each week. See the deadlines for each week below. Entries may also be dropped off by the deadline date by 5 PM at Lancaster Newspapers offices:

Sunday, 10/30 through Saturday, 11/5. Deadline - 11/9.
Sunday, 11/6 through Saturday, 11/12. Deadline - 11/16.
Sunday, 11/13 through Saturday, 11/19. Deadline - 11/23.
Sunday, 11/20 through Saturday, 11/26. Deadline - 11/30.
Sunday, 11/27 through Saturday, 12/3. Deadline - 12/7.
Sunday, 12/4 through Saturday, 12/10. Deadline - 12/14.
Sunday, 12/11 through Saturday, 12/17. Deadline - 12/21.
Sunday, 12/18 through Saturday, 12/24. Deadline - 12/28.
Sunday, 12/25 through Saturday, 12/31, Deadline - 1/4/12.

Mailed or e-mailed entries are not valid and will be discarded.
If you are an online only newspaper subscriber to LancasterOnline.com's eEditions, you may print out and complete a copy of the puzzle entry form, and then drop it off at the locations noted. Limit one online entry per each online issue of the Sunday News and Monday combined Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era during the contest dates.
Each week, a lucky winner will be selected in a random drawing from all completed, valid entries dropped off by each week's deadline date. The first entry picked at random with the correct stores listed will be declared the winner for that week.
Each week, the winner selected will win $500 worth of prizes from the stores on their completed entry blank. The winner, working with Lancaster Newspapers representatives, will decide whether to spend the entire prize amount in 1 of that week's stores, or divide it among a number of that week's stores so that it adds up to $500 in certificates and gift cards.
There are 10 contest weeks. A total of $5,000 in prizes will be awarded to the weekly winners.
At the end of the 10-week contest, a Grand Prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from all valid entries received during the contest. The first entry picked at random with the correct stores listed for the week selected will be declared the Grand Prize Winner.
The Grand Prize Winner will win $2,500 worth of prizes from all stores that participated in the 10-week contest. The Grand Prize Winner, working with Lancaster Newspapers representatives, will decide whether to spend the entire prize amount in 1 of the participating stores, or divide it among a number of the participating stores so that it adds up to $2,500 in certificates and gift cards.
You do not need to be present to win. Judges' decisions final.
Limit one prize to a household during the contest. Businesses are not eligible to enter.
The winner for the first week, 10/23-29 will be announced in the Sunday News on 11/6 and the Intelligencer Journal/ Lancaster New Era on Monday, 11/7. The winner for the second week, 10/30-11/7 will be announced in the Sunday News on 11/13 and the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era on Monday, 11/14. And so on. The Grand Prize winner and tenth week winner will be announced in the Sunday News 1/8/12 and the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era on Monday, 1/9/12. Winners agree to allow their name & photo to be used in advertisements in Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. publications and web sites.
Should any winner be unable to accept their prize or be ineligible for some other reason, a second drawing will be immediately held from among all entries received to choose a new winner.
Winners will be contacted by telephone within 2 weeks after the completion of their contest week to verify their eligibility. Once eligibility is confirmed, winners will receive a letter in the mail confirming their prize shortly after that time.
Winners are responsible for all taxes on prizes won. So, included with the confirmation letter will be a form from the Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. Business Office that winners are required to completely fill out, sign and return before the prize will be officially approved to be awarded. If this form is not filled out, or the winner refuses to fill out this form, the winner's entry becomes invalid and another drawing will be immediately held from among all entries received to choose a new winner.
If a specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. may substitute a prize of like or equal value. There is no cash substitute for any prize won.
Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. reserves the right to alter any rules of any contest at anytime.
Any attempt to bribe, coerce, or offer cash or a prize or a chance to win cash or a prize in exchange for an additional qualifying entry or additional multiple qualifying entries on the behalf of a contest participant by any other person is prohibited and will disqualify the contest entries of all persons involved in this activity.
Employees of Steinman Enterprise firms and the participating companies in the contest and their immediate families living in the same household are not eligible to participate.
