Diane Lynn Schley, 49, a homemaker, of Lancaster, died April 15, 2014 at home of natural causes. Surviving is her husband, Juan "Misterio" L. Davila, Sr. & three children, Diane, Juan L. "Jun-Jun" & David.
Ella Ruth Miller of New Holland passed away on April 15 at Garden Spot Village at the age of 91 years. Born on April 10, 1923, she was the eldest daughter of Ruth Eaby Brown and John [Bender] Brown of New Holland. Ella was the widow of Russell H. Miller, a mechanic employed by the New Holland Machine Company. She was preceded in death by her son, Russell H. Miller, Jr., and by her sister, the former Gladys Mae Brown, wife of Willis L. Shirk of New Holland. She is survived by two nephews, Willis L. Shirk, Jr., of Lancaster, husband of Sandra J. Strunk and Alexander M. Shirk of New Holland, husband of Beverley Sentman Shirk. She is also survived by two grandnephews, Mark Shirk, husband of Fiona Shirk, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Craig Shirk of New Holland.
Judith Zucker Clark, 81, of Rothsville, PA passed away peacefully from a heart condition on Sunday, Apr. 13, 2014 just before sunset at Ephrata Community Hospital. There to say goodbye were 15 members of her family, gathered around her, telling stories they remembered and saying thanks for her years of loving care.
Lena M. Hildebrand, 99, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Hamilton Arms Center. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Hildebrand to whom she was married for 64 years. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Fannie Mae (Shellenberger) Glick.
Verna C. Wenger, 93, of Elizabethtown, and formerly of Manheim, died peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Manor Care Health Services, Elizabethtown. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Susanna Dourte Brownsberger. Verna was the wife of the late John H. Wenger who died in 1985. She was employed as a news correspondent for the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal; previously Verna worked as a secretary for Attorney David Eaby in Lancaster, and as a bookkeeper for Armstrong World Industries in the Accounts Payable Department. Verna worked passionately and tirelessly for the Democratic Party. She personally met John F. Kennedy during his presidential campaign stop in Lancaster. Verna was the last of her immediate family. She will be missed by her caring friend of many years, Barbara Hower, of Elizabethtown.
Alice M. Leed, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at home after a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Bouder Brooks. She was the wife of the late Enos H. Leed, Sr. who died in July of 1991.
Donald H. Bridges, 90, of Ephrata, PA, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Ephrata Hospital. Born January 10, 1924 in Marietta, PA, he was a son of the late Frank W. and Alice L. (Atkins) Bridges and husband of Nancy F. (Ament) Bridges.
