Two people were injured in an apparent head-on crash on Route 72 in Rapho Township Tuesday morning, according to a fire official.

It happened south of Pinch Road shortly before 6:30, Mastersonville Fire Chief Jeff Siegrist said.

Two drivers, a man and a woman, were injured and both required help to get out of their cars.

There were no passengers.

The man was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment, the woman to Hershey Medical Center.

Siegrist did not know how seriously they were hurt, but said both were conscious and alert.

Roads were wet at the time of the crash.

"There is a slight curve where it happened," Siegrist said. "The road there is known to get slippery when wet."

Route 72 was closed for about an hour.

Manheim Borough police did not immediately return a call Tuesday seeking information on the crash.
