Smart Growth Forum set June 4 in Manheim
A Smart Growth Forum to encourage a countywide discussion on creating healthier communities in Lancaster County will be held Tuesday, June 4.
The forum will be held from 8 to 11:45 a.m. at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center, 101 Champ Blvd., Manheim.
It will feature Mark Fenton, public health, planning and transportation expert and consultant.
He will conduct community walkability audits and facilitate a countywide discussion on creating healthier communities in Lancaster County.
Community planners, transportation experts, bicyclists, health professionals and others are invited to participate in this discussion and action planning for Lancaster County.
Registration materials will soon be available on the Coalition for Smart Growth's website, coalitionforsmartgrowth.org.
Various local transportation and planning officials and experts will facilitate breakout sessions for trails and open space planning, healthy schools, complete streets and active transportation.
The forum is sponsored by Lancaster General Health, LiveWell Lancaster County, the Coalition for Smart Growth and Envision Lancaster County.
