Pet of the Week BY LAURA VINROE, Humane League of Lancaster County
A trip to Brazil is more tangible than you might think: Just hop in the car and come visit him at the Humane League.
Brazil is a handsome 1-year-old pure white bunny in need of a loving home. When meeting new friends, Brazil's nose starts to wiggle and he'll approach with curiosity. Given a little encouragement, Brazil will crawl into an open lap and he'll relax as he is petted right between his soft ears.
A playful boy, Brazil likes to nibble on toys, and he'll draw smiles as he races around a playpen. Brazil first arrived at the Humane Society Harrisburg a year ago as a baby before being transferred to the Humane League last month. Already neutered, Brazil is more than ready to hop out of shelter life for the very first time.
This sweet boy would be a great addition to a family who can provide the calm and gentle affection he craves.
Brazil is available for adoption at the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East. Many of our available animals can also be viewed online at humaneleague.com. Regular shelter hours are 3-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The shelter is closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Call the league at 393-6551.
From April 23-29, the league received 16 dogs and 29 cats. Eleven dogs and 13 cats were adopted; one stray cat and one dog were reclaimed. One cat was transferred to another rescue organization. Previously featured cat Alejandro is still waiting to be adopted.
nThe Humane League is happy to announce its new partnership with the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals based out of Philadelphia. Visit the league's website for further details and to make a donation toward this program.
