A 3-year-old boy died Saturday morning after being struck by a car in Narvon.
The boy, Steven Smucker, was on a scooter near his home in the 1100 block of Narvon Road when he was struck at 8:48 a.m.
He died of multiple traumatic injuries and his death was ruled an accident, Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said.
The boy was in his driveway shortly before the accident. His mother was at a garage sale across the street, the coroner said.
The child saw his mother and went into the street, where he was struck by a northbound motorist.
State police were not available to provide the identity of the driver.
The child was pronounced dead at Lancaster General Hospital.
