Nadal reaches Barcelona final
Seven-time winner Rafael Nadal defeated Milos Raonic 6-4, 6-0 Saturday to reach the final of the Barcelona Open in Barcelona, Spain.
He will play for the title today against Nicolas Almagro in a match between Spaniards. Almargo defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-2, 6-1 in the other semifinal to advance to his second clay-court final of the year.
Nadal has won 38 straight matches on the Real Club de Tenis' outdoor red clay. His last loss in Barcelona came 10 years ago to Spain's current Davis Cup captain, Alex Corretja. Nadal is now ranked fifth and has reached six straight finals -- winning three -- since returning from a seven-month knee injury layoff.
Sharapova, Li reach final in Stuttgart: Defending champion Maria Sharapova will face Li Na in the final of the Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany, today in a matchup of the last two French Open winners.
Sharapova rallied in the third set to beat Angelique Kerber 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 before second-seeded Li followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win over qualifier Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States.
The top-seeded Sharapova committed two consecutive double-faults to drop her serve at the start of the decisive set. But Sharapova won the last eight points and clinched the match when her third-seeded German opponent hit a backhand long.
Sharapova was pushed to three sets for the third straight match in Stuttgart and missed a chance to serve out the match after taking a 5-3 lead.
Li became the first Asian player to win a Grand Slam singles title when she became the French Open champion in 2011.
Rosol, Garcia-Lopez reach Bucharest final: Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic ousted three-time champion Gilles Simon 6-2, 6-3 to reach his first career final at the BRD Tiriac Nastase in Bucharest, Romania.
Rosol will face fellow unseeded player Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain, who beat 2011 winner Florian Mayer 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Schiavone, Dominguez Lino reach Marrakech final: Francesca Schiavone will face Lourdes Dominguez Lino in the final of the Grand Prix SAR in Marrakech, Morocco.
Schiavone defeated Chanelle Scheepers 7-6 (4), 6-1, and Dominguez Lino rallied past Mandy Minella 2-6, 6-0, 6-1.
Schiavone, the 2010 French Open champion now ranked 48th, is through to her first final of the year. She'll aim for her sixth title and first since winning the Strasbourg Open last May.
