Nora W. Splain
Nora W. Splain, age 94, of Columbia, died peacefully, Friday, April 05, 2013, at the Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She had been a resident of Trinity House Apartments, Columbia for 34 and 1/2 years. Born in Carlisle, Nora was the daughter of the late Cloyd W. and Mary E. Wilt Woods. She was the wife of the late John R. Miller; he died July 27,1993, and the late Robert Splain; he died April 1, 1979. Nora was a pipefitting tester for the former Grinnell Corporation in Columbia, until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship, Lancaster. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose. Nora was a 1936 graduate of Columbia High School. She enjoyed playing bingo and crossword puzzles. Nora loved to spend time with her cat. She loved to crochet, and was often crocheting gifts for friends and family.Nora is survived by her children: Larry E. husband of Miyuki Miller of Honolulu, Hawaii; Charles W. husband of Sandy Miller of Middletown, MD; Reggie L. Miller of Austin; Mary Anne wife of Joseph B. Lloyd of Marietta; Steve W. Miller of Lancaster, her brother Wayne Woods of Metter, GA, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Charles, Robert, and Clint Woods. A funeral service for Nora will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013, from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut Street, Columbia, at 11am (Viewing 10-11am) with Pastor Claire E. Harstad officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Please omit flowers.
