APRIL 2 -- Fox Harbor Archery Club's weekly indoor league shoot begins at 7 p.m. Archers shoot a 450 round, from the 20-yard line, at bull's-eye targets. Fee is $5 for the night, plus $5 if you want to join the league. Archers do not have to join the league to shoot. Take Route 30 west to Prospect Road; right on Prospect, then left almost immediately into Indian Head Road. The club is on the right.
APRIL 6 -- Gentlemen MC Sportsman Club's block shoot from 1-5 p.m. Take Route 272 south from Lancaster; club is on the left at the top of the Buck hill.
APRIL 6-7 -- Lancaster Archery Club's 30-target 3-D shoot from 7 a.m.-noon both days; $10 for adults; free for kids 12 and under. Take Prince Street south from Lancaster; right on Eckman Road. The club is on the right.
APRIL 6-7 -- The 20th annual Pennsylvania Spring 3-D Bowhunters Festival at J. Edward Mack Scout Reservation in Brickerville. Shooting on six different courses from dawn to dusk Saturday and dawn-3:30 p.m. Sunday; nighttime raccoon shoot begins at 8 p.m. Saturday; $17 for Saturday, $14 for Sun., or $25 for weekend pass.
APRIL 13 -- Penn-Dutch Sportsmen's kid's fishing derby at Nolt's Pond, Spruce Street and Reidenbach Road, New Holland, from 8 a.m.-noon. Open to kids 12 and under.
SUNDAYS -- Mill Creek Sportsmen's Association indoor handgun shoot from noon-2:30 p.m. Nonmembers, $15. Call 393-6416. Handgun safety course available.
MONDAYS -- Paradise Sportsman's Association's practice trap shoot from 5-7 p.m.; $4. Take Route 741 east from Strasburg; right on Belmont Road.
TUESDAYS -- Manheim Sportsman's Association's indoor range open for handgun practice from 7-9 p.m. Fee is $10 for nonmembers of the club. The club is at 552 Oak Tree Road.
WEDNESDAYS -- Atglen Sportsmen's sporting clays shoot begins at 5 p.m.; $5.50. The club is on Creek Road, Sadsbury Township.
WEDNESDAYS -- Adamstown Rod & Gun Club's trap shoot under the lights begins at 5 p.m.; $3. The club is at 563 Willow St., Reinholds.
WEDNESDAYS -- Southern Lancaster County Farmer-Sportsmen's indoor archery league runs for 10 weeks; $40. Take Route 272 south to Buck; left on Route 372; left on Hollow Road.
THURSDAYS -- Paradise Sportsman's Association's chicken trap shoot from 5-7 p.m.; $5. Take Route 741 east from Strasburg; right on Belmont Road.
THURSDAYS -- Southern Lancaster County Farmers-Sportsmen's cowboy fast-draw shooting practice from 6-8 p.m. Take Route 272 south to Buck; left on Route 372; left on Hollow Road.
SATURDAYS -- Conewago Rod & Gun Club, Elizabethtown, has public trapshooting practice from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Call 426-2016 or see conewagogunclub.org.
Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation's Environmental Education Center in Central Park offers a variety of programs. Preregistration required at 295-2055; most are free. See co.lancaster.pa.us/parks.
APRIL 6 -- Workshop on backyard composting using the ComposTumbler from 9-11 a.m. at the EEC.
APRIL 6 -- Learn basic birding and identification from 10-11 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. in the EEC. Bring binoculars if you have them.
APRIL 7 -- Take a walk through Central Park in search of spring wildflowers from 11 a.m.-noon. Meet at the covered bridge in the park.
