Mary E. McFadden Hindman
Mary E. McFadden Hindman, 90, of Kirkwood, PA, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Lancaster Regional Hospital.She was the wife of the late Thomas K. Hindman who died in 1977.Born in Lincoln University, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Jeannette Brower McFadden.Mary retired from the U.S. Naval Training Center, Bainbridge, MD.She was a member, past Elder and Deacon of the Oxford Presbyterian Church and was a life member and past Matron and District Deputy of the Order of Eastern Star, Octoraro Chapter 463. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 67 years.She is survived by a son, Thomas W. Hindman, Sr. and his wife, Vonnie Hindman of Kirkwood; a granddaughter, Christine Stanley and her husband Timothy Stanley of Oxford; a grandson, Thomas W. Hindman, Jr. and his wife, Teresa Hindman of Quarryville; a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Gill; and a great-grandson, Alexander Hindman and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by two brothers, George J. McFadden, Jr. and Joseph B. McFadden; and a sister Nancy J. McFadden Thompson.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, where friends may call from 10-11 a.m.Interment will be in Oxford Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Rd.
