Lancaster woman to receive Kohr Award
Judy Pehrson will receive the Jean Royer Kohr Award at the annual women's history dinner hosted by the Women's Alliance at 6 p.m. March 20 at the Pressroom Restaurant, 26-28 W. King St.
Pehrson, of Lancaster, who recently retired as director of The Alice Drum Women's Center at Franklin & Marshall College, has nearly 40 years of experience in journalism, marketing, public relations and international education. She became active in the women's rights movement beginning when she was a graduate student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Later, as director of information and education for the Pennsylvania Commission for Women, she worked to implement Pennsylvania's state Equal Rights Amendment.
Melody Keim, vice president of programs and initiatives at Lancaster County Community Foundation, will be keynote speaker at the dinner.
