Optimist Club seeks a queen
The Optimist Club of Lancaster is looking for a young woman in the 11th grade to represent the club at various club activities during the year.

Participants are required to submit a recent photo and a 500-words-or-fewer essay on "What Optimism Means to Me." Three finalists will be selected to participate in a pageant for final judging. That will take place at a meeting of the club at noon April 16 at the Elk's Club, 219 N. Duke St.
Prizes include a $50 gift certificate for the two runners-up and a $100 certificate for the queen.
Entries must be postmarked no later than March 31. n
