Tray Woodall scored 14 points and led a late surge that sent No. 23 Pittsburgh to a 62-52 victory over No. 17 Cincinnati on Saturday, another meager showing on offense by the Bearcats.
Cincinnati (18-6, 6-5 Big East) went the final 9:21 without a field goal, missing its final 14 shots. The Bearcats shot a season-low 30.8 percent from the field.
The Bearcats managed only seven free throws in the last 9 minutes. Sean Kilpatrick led Cincinnati with 16 points, but had only one free throw in the second half, when he missed all seven shots from the field. He came into the game averaging 18.3 points, third-best in the Big East.
