Elizabeth D. Hoerner

Elizabeth "Betsy" Hoerner, 82, of Hershey, Pennsylvania, passed away at home on February 6, 2013, with her family by her side.She was born April 13, 1930 in Kingston, PA, daughter of the late Lloyd Eby Denlinger and Miriam (Warren) Denlinger.Betsy was a 1947 graduate of Manor-Millersville H.S. and in 1951 was the first student to receive a B.S. Degree in Laboratory Technology from Elizabethtown College and completed her internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lancaster. She was later employed by the Elizabethtown Crippled Childrens Hospital and the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon.She was a devoted homemaker, enjoyed reading, playing cards, knitting and completing crossword puzzles. She had been a member of the Federated Women's Club of Hershey and the Faculty Wives of Lower Dauphin Schools.She is survived by her husband, Dr. Henry R. Hoerner, Jr.; son, Henry "Tim" Hoerner, III, and wife, Kathleen M., of Middleburg, VA, and their children, Henry IV, Christopher, Jennifer, Stefanie, and Matthew; daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Hoerner Durchin, and her husband, Steven A., of Millersville, and their children, Amy and Molly.Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Route 422 & Lucy Avenue, Hershey.Services and interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, the ­family prefers memorial contributions be made to Hospice For All Seasons, 2741 Paxton St., Suite 200, Harrisburg, PA 17111.Visit the online guestbook to share condolences with the family at: www.hooverfuneralhome.com
