Brown DixonDonald Lee Brown Dixon, 78, of Holtwood, PA, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Coatesville Veterans Hospital. Born in Norwood, MA he was the son of the late Amos T. and Theo Brown Dixon. Don was the husband of Marilyn McKay Dixon.He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.A graduate of University of Massachusetts, he was a civil engineer, specializing in bridge design and construction. His employment included positions at Bethlehem Steel, Williamsport Fabricators, High Steel and J.D. Eckman in Atglen, PA from which he retired. An active member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, Don served as elder and trustee of the church. He loved working with children and enjoyed his time as Boy Scout Master and being a little league coach. He respected the outdoors and was an avid biker, walker/hiker and camper. His construction skills made it possible for him to build his own log cabin in Pine Creek, PA where he was a member of the Pine Creek Conservancy. He was also a member of Lancaster Grave Concern (cemetery restoration).In addition to his wife, Marilyn, Don's survivors include his children: Thomas W., husband of Lori Wilson Dixon of Elizabethtown, PA, Heidi Dixon-White, wife of Franklin White of Boonville, MO, Wendy Lee, wife of Bradley Young of Drum, PA, and Randall R., husband of Danielle Stafford Dixon of Clovis, NM; grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Brian, and Robbie Dixon, and Kirsten and Benjamin Young; and great grandchildren: Caleb, Liam and Hayden Dixon; his twin sister, Thelma, wife of Nicholas Bruno of Dedham, MA; brother, Amos, husband of Mary Ann Dixon of Baton Rouge, LA, a sister, Lenore Vaux of Lilburn, GA and a Fresh Air daughter, Gizelle, wife of David Coleman of Edison, NJ.A memorial service celebrating Don?s life will be held at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church at a later date.
