1930 ? 2013Carolyne Campbell Stark passed away in her 82nd year on Saturday morning, February 9th, 2013, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.She was born April 7, 1930, in Marietta, PA. She was the daughter of Miriam Eater Campbell and James Forrest Campbell and the wife of the late Ralph D. Stark. Surviving are her daughter Miriam Stark Toepperwein of Linden, PA and one grandson Gregory Toepperwein of Portland, Oregon as well as cousins of the Stark, Eater and Campbell families.Carolyne was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Marietta and the Eastern Star Donegal Chapter 422. She spent her early life in Marietta and her adult years in San Antonio, Midland and Lake Jackson, Texas, returning to Marietta in the early 1990?s.She was proud of her Scot?s heritage. One of her Campbell ancestors, a native of Scotland, came to Marietta in the early 1800?s and became the lock master of the Pennsylvania Canal at Marietta. A lover of nature and wildlife, Carolyne was devoted to birds, butterflies and her garden. She was involved with the raising of dogs especially Collies (rough), Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Schipperkees and showed her dogs at various major dog shows. While her health permitted she was active in church and Eastern Star activities.A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 14 at the Smedley Funeral Home, Ltd., Marietta, followed by interment at the Marietta Cemetery. Condolence visit may be made starting at 10 A.M. Thursday with service to be held at 11 A.M.
