No. 3 Indiana beats No. 1 Michigan

It's the third time in school history that the Hoosiers (19-2, 8-1 Big Ten) have beaten the No. 1 team at home, and the first time they've done it in back-to-back seasons. The win gives Indiana a five-game winning streak, sole possession of the Big Ten lead and likely the top spot in the country again when Monday's rankings come out.

In addition to Michigan's defeat, No. 2 Kansas lost 85-80 to Oklahoma State.

It all came on a night when Indiana students were loud and raucous, even dancing in the stands. But they did not rush the court in full force as they did in 2001 when the Hoosiers upset Michigan State or in 2011 when they took down Kentucky, their other home wins against No. 1 teams.

The Wolverines (20-2, 7-2) were led by Trey Burke with 25 points and eight assists. Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 18 in a game Michigan led only once, at 3-2, and spent most of the night playing catch-up after digging themselves an early hole.

Finally, after more than 20½ minutes of chasing the Hoosiers, the Wolverines finally caught them when Nik Stauskas made all three free throws with 17:42 left to tie the score at 40. It was the first time Michigan had even been tied since it was 5-all.

That didn't last long, though.

Christian Watford broke the tie with two free throws on the next possession, Oladipo completed a three-point play, Watford made one of two free throws and Jordan Hulls hit a 3-pointer to give Indiana a 49-40 lead with 15:22 to play. After a basket from Will Sheehey completed the 11-0 run, Michigan came roaring back again with an 11-2 spurt that cut the deficit to 53-51 when Jon Horford scored on a putback with 11:02 to play.

But every time the Wolverines got close, Indiana answered.

Oklahoma State 85, Kansas 80: Markel Brown scored 28 points, Marcus Smart added 25 and Oklahoma State held on to upset No. 2 Kansas, ending the Jayhawks' nation-leading 18-game winning streak.

Smart had a pair of key putbacks in the closing minutes, helping the Cowboys (15-5, 5-3 Big 12) go on a 13-2 run that turned a 66-62 deficit into a 73-68 lead with just over a minute left.

Ben McLemore had 23 points to lead the Jayhawks (19-2, 7-1).

Duke 79, Florida State 60: Seth Curry scored 21 points, Quinn Cook added 18 and No. 5 Duke cruised past defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion Florida State.

The Blue Devils (19-2, 6-2 ACC) scored the game's first 11 points, raced to an 18-2 lead and never looked back, building a 26-point advantage on the way to a 42-22 cushion at halftime.

Aaron Thomas led the Seminoles (12-9, 4-4) with 14 points.

Butler 75, Rhode Island 68: Rotnei Clarke scored 23 points and Roosevelt Jones added 18 to lead No. 9 Butler (18-4, 5-2 Atlantic 10) past Rhode Island (6-14, 1-6).

California 58, Oregon 54: Justin Cobbs made an 18-foot jumper with 1:35 remaining and then added a pair of free throws as California hung to beat No. 10 Oregon (18-4, 7-2), which was led by Tony Woods' 14 points and eight rebounds.

Allen Crabbe and Richard Solomon scored 13 points apiece, and Tyrone Wallace added 12 while helping the Golden Bears (13-8, 5-4 Pac-12).

Miami 79, N.C. State 78: Reggie Johnson tipped in a missed shot with 0.8 seconds left to lift No. 14 Miami (17-3, 8-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) over No. 19 North Carolina State (16-6, 5-4).

Durand Scott led Miami with 18 points. C.J. Leslie had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Wolfpack.

Northern Iowa 57, Wichita State 52: Anthony James scored 16 points and Northern Iowa beat No. 15 Wichita State.

Seth Tuttle had eight points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Panthers (12-11, 5-6 Missouri Valley Conference). Carl Hall led Wichita State with 20 points (19-4, 8-3).

Missouri 91, Auburn 77: Keion Bell scored 24 points and Earnest Ross added 23, both season highs, as No. 17 Missouri 16-5, 5-3 Southeastern Conference) beat Auburn. Frankie Sullivan led Auburn (8-13, 2-6) with 12 points.

Creighton 75, Bradley 58: Doug McDermott scored 25 points, including nine during a decisive 12-0 run, and No. 21 Creighton (20-3, 9-2 Missouri Valley Conference) overcame poor 3-point shooting in the first half to defeat Bradley.

Dyricus Simms-Edwards had 18 points for the Braves (13-10, 5-6).

Air Force 70, San Diego State 67: Michael Lyons scored 20 points and Air Force (14-6, 5-2 Mountain West Conference) beat No. 22 San Diego State, overcoming a 25-point performance by the Aztecs' 16-5, 4-3) Jamaal Franklin.

Cincinnati 65, Seton Hall 59: Sean Kilpatrick scored 21 points, Cashmere Wright added 17 and Cincinnati (18-4, 6-3 Big East) held off No. 24 Seton Hall (13-9, 2-7) after blowing nearly all of a 20-point lead.

Fuquan Edwin and Brandon Mobley both had 16 points for Seton Hall.

Florida 78, Mississippi 64: Erik Murphy scored 19 points and was instrumental on the defensive end in leading No. 4 Florida (18-2, 8-0) to a victory over No. 16 Mississippi (17-4, 6-2).

Pat Young added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Gators , who won their 10th consecutive game. Mike Rosario (14 points) and Scottie Wilbekin (13) also reached double figures.

Marshall Henderson, the Southeastern Conference's leading scorer, led the Rebels with 25 points on 8-of-15 shooting. Henderson was 7 of 11 from behind the arc.

New Mexico 75, Nevada 62: Chad Adams hit two 3-pointers during a key second-half run that carried No. 20 New Mexico (19-3, 6-1 Mountain West) past Nevada.

Hugh Greenwood led New Mexico with 15 points, while Malik Story had 20 for the Wolf Pack (11-10, 2-5).

Kansas State 52, Oklahoma 50: Angel Rodriguez hit two free throws with 5.6 seconds remaining to give No. 18 Kansas State a victory over Oklahoma.

Will Spradling led the Wildcats (17-4, 6-2 Big 12) with 12 points, including five in a row after the Sooners pulled within one with 11:27 to go.

Romero Osby had 13 points to lead the Sooners (14-6, 5-3).

Ohio State 63, Nebraska 56: Lenzelle Smith Jr. had 21 points and No. 11 Ohio State held off a late Nebraska surge.

The Cornhuskers (11-12, 2-8 Big Ten) went on a 15-5 run and cut Ohio State's lead to 58-53 on David Rivers' free throws with 2:40 remaining. Following three Nebraska misses, Aaron Craft hit a pair of free throws with 56 seconds left to put the Buckeyes (17-4, 7-2 Big Ten) up seven.

Ohio State won the game at the free throw line. The Buckeyes made 23 of 28, including all 10 of their first-half attempts. Nebraska was just 4 of 5 from the line.

American University 68, Lafayette 64: Stephen Lumpkins scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead American University (8-14, 3-4) over Lafayette in Patriot League play.

Seth Hinrichs led Lafayette (11-13, 4-3) with 18 points.

La Salle 80, George Washington 71: Ramon Galloway and D.J. Peterson scored 15 points apiece to lead six players in double figures in La Salle's victory over George Washington (10-10, 4-3).

Sam Mills and Jerrell Wright had 12 each for La Salle (15-6, 5-3 Atlantic 10 Conference).

Northeastern 59, Drexel 52: Jonathan Lee scored 17 points to go with five boards and four assists to help Northeastern pull away from Colonial Athletic Association foe Drexel.

Dartaye Ruffin led Drexel (9-13, 5-5) with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Saint Joseph's 70, Temple 69: Ronald Roberts scored 18 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots as Saint Joseph's (13-7, 4-3 Atlantic 10 Conference) rallied from a nine-point deficit to edge Temple.

Khalif Wyatt finished with a career-best 34 points and made 7 of 14 3-pointers for the Owls (14-7, 3-4).n
