Mike Madrigale, owner of Mr. Suit Records, 118 W. Chestnut St., couldn't believe it.
The guy he bought $30 worth of records from Thursday that had been swiped minutes before from Angry, Young and Poor, 356 W. Orange St., was back again Friday with more records.
"I started laughing and I said, 'I can't buy stolen records,' '' Madrigale said.
"He said, 'I'm sorry,' and turned around and left,' '' Madrigale said.
Madrigale called Lancaster city police and posted the man's description on his Facebook page.
David Preno, manager of Angry, Young and Poor, posted back: "He is probably heading my way to snag the B section."
The man was indeed headed that way.
"Like clockwork, the guy walked by my shop like five minutes later," Preno said Friday.
The man had also tried to sell the records at Transcending Flesh, also 118 W. Chestnut St., where employees called police, Sgt. William Hickey said. Preno also called police and identified him.
The man's records were by Radiohead and Matt Pond PA, Hickey said. Preno said the records were not from his store.
Police charged the suspect, Cody Allen Jumbelick, 22, of Manheim, with retail theft and theft by deception, Hickey said.n
