Scott M. Frantz, 46, of Mount Joy, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday afternoon, January 30, 2013.Scott was many things to many people: A loving husband and father who could be serious, but also was a fun-loving man. Though he will be remembered mostly for his God given gifts as a guitar player and smooth vocals on many songs, Scott Frantz was so much more. He was a selfless family man who gave all he could to anyone who needed it. By the grace of God, he had impacted so many lives in a positive manner and his spirit will live on.Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Melvin A. "Skip" and Sandra K. (Hanna) Frantz, Mount Joy and was the loving husband of Darla J. (Lentz) Frantz, Mount Joy.He is survived by three children, Larissa K., wife of Joshua Mann, Mount Joy; Katrina M. Rohrer, at home; Derek Paris, at home; two granddaughters, Lia and Allison Mann and one sister, Michele S. Phillips, wife of Christopher S. Phillips and their children, Katie, Nate, and AJ, Hagerstown, MD.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Catherine F. and Richard E. Hanna, and his paternal grandparents, Sarah J. and Melvin W. Frantz. He was a 1984 graduate of Donegal High School and attended Pennsylvania School of Art and Design. Scott was a truck driver for Allen Distribution, York and Carlisle, PA.However, Scott was made to perform music and touch peoples? lives through that manner. Starting as a young child, Scott had taken up the guitar and became the next musician in a family that is rich with them. He played many genres throughout his life from Rock to Christian music but all of his fellow music partners and friends would agree that he was a quiet, gentle, and delightful presence who could calm any person through his music.A memorial service to celebrate Scott?s life, will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut Street, Columbia, at 10am (the family will receive friends from 9-10am), with Pastor Deb Helt officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Derek P. Frantz Education Fund, in care of Union Community Bank, 101 E. Main St., PO Box 567, Mount Joy, PA 17552 would be greatly appreciated. www.cwkraftfh.com.
