Killing investigated in Manor Township
By Jon Rutter, Staff Writer jrutter@lnpnews.com
The victim of Friday's late-night shooting at a residence in the 100 block of Oak Road, Manor Township, was a man in his 20s, officials said Saturday.
His name was not being released Saturday night, pending notification of his family.
Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman said Saturday evening that the death appeared to be the result of an altercation.
"It was not a robbery," Stedman said. "It was not a break-in. They were not strangers. ... It was a dispute between two people who knew each other. We know who they are."
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, according to Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni.
Stedman said police have what is purported to be the weapon –– a handgun –– used in the incident.
"We're confident there isn't any danger to the public," Stedman said.
No arrests had been made as of Saturday, he added.
"We'll be scrutinizing justification" and looking at the autopsy results to see if they match the crime narrative developed by investigators, Stedman said.
"There was another person around" the residence at the time of the shooting, he said, but "I don't know if that person saw the whole thing or not."
Stedman said the victim either lived at the home or would have been welcome there.
Township police and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly before midnight, township police Sgt. Jim Alexander said in a press release.n
