Millersville University's baseball coaching staff will host a series of clinics for youth Feb. 2-3. Mini-clinics for grades 7-12 are set for Saturday, Feb. 2. Each min-clinic cost $50 and is designed to be an advanced clinic with a high level of instruction and applicants are limited in order to maximize personal attention. Clinic for infielders, 9 a.m.; hitting clinic, noon; clinics for pitchers and catchers, 3 p.m. The preseason youth clinic for ages 5-13 is from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, and costs $55. Manor Ridge Athletic Association is accepting online registrations for its spring baseball, softball and tee-ball programs. Lancaster Football Association is accepting registrations for its spring 2013 boys' flag football league. LFA will offer three divisions by grades: K-2, 3-5 and 6-8. Lacrosse
Hempfield Girls Middle School Lacrosse will hold an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29. The meeting will be held at Landisville Middle School in the large group room which is next to the gym. Please park in the parking lot between the middle school and the stadium. This meeting is for all girls from Centerville Middle School and Landisville Middle School interested in playing lacrosse in the upcoming spring season. Manheim Township Lacrosse is holding open registration for boys in grades 2-8 for the winter session and spring season. Lanco Elite Lacrosse Club, a local nonprofit club for female players, will hold its second tryout for the high school summer 2013 teams from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Lancaster Country Day School, 725 Hamilton Road. All female lacrosse players in graduating years 2014-17 are welcome to try out for a spot on one of the four high school teams. Junior League of Lancaster's eighth annual Run 4 Luck will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Lancaster Country Day School. Participants can register for the run/walk and the kids run at active.com, or registration forms can be printed out from run4luck.com and mailed in by March 5 to the Run4Luck Committee, C/O 5 Bently Lane, Lititz, PA 17543. The chip timed run/walk begins on Hamilton Road and includes a picturesque four-mile course through a residential area with gently rolling terrain. Senior games
The Senior Indoor Games will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 5-7 and 9. There are over 30 different events over 3 days for men and women 55 years and up and a free Health Fair & Expo on the sames. All events are being held at LANCO Fieldhouse, East Petersburg. The 55+ Health Fair and 55+ Expo is free and the registration fee for the Senior Games is $10 which covers all events for all 3 days. Shuffleboard
A shuffleboard tournament will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at Overlook Activities Center to benefit the Lancaster Senior Games. Anyone age 55 and older can participant in tournament, in which teams of two will play others in their own age groups. Times are 9 a.m., ages 70-79; 11:30 a.m., ages 80 and up; 1:30 p.m., ages 55-69. The Ephrata Recreation Center is taking registrations for its 2013 girls fast pitch softball teams. Girls ages 7-14 as of Jan. 1, 2013 are eligible. Teams play in the Lanco Fast Pitch Softball League. Teams will be entered in the 8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & under and 14 & under divisions. A new Tri-County 50 and Over Senior Modified Softball League is forming for southern Berks, eastern Lancaster and Chester counties. Most fields are within 25 minutes of southern Berks/eastern Lancaster county lines. The league will be nine-man modified, 10 players in the field. Accepting new teams and new players.
