Dolores W. Simmons, 81, of Marietta, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with lung cancer, on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. She was the wife of the late Simon M. Simmons, who died in1991.Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Agatha Whitman Webster. Dolores was a graduate of John Harris High School, class of 1949. She was retired from Three Mile Island, where she worked as an Administrator in the Radiological Controls Department. Dolores was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed helping neighbors and friends, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Joy.Surviving are two children, Brian M., husband of Anne L. Simmons of Mt. Joy and Tina L., wife of Ronald Maag of Marietta; four grandchildren, Ryan and Victoria Simmons, and Michael and Shawn Maag. In addition to her husband and mother, her sister also preceded her in death. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dolores? Life Celebration at the Smedley Funeral Home, 29 N. Gay St., Marietta on Tuesday at 11:00am. Interment will be in Crossroads Brethren in Christ Cemetery, Mt. Joy.Viewing will be held at Smedley?s on Monday from 6:00-8:00pm and again on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of service.
