Robert E. Christian
Robert E. Christian, 80, of Elizabethtown, passed away, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Rheems Nursing Center. Born in Norwood, NY, he was the son of the late Albert and Etta (Lashomb) Christian. Robert was the husband of the late June E. (Lucas) Christian who died in 2007. Robert proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1993 from the Aluminum Workers International Union as a Field Representative. Robert was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed collecting coins, researching genealogy, and most of all spending time with his family at the beach. Robert is survived by six children: Steven Christian of Lancaster, Mark Christian husband of Sharon of Mount Joy, Debora Ruhl wife of Leslie of Lititz, Barbara Alvey wife of Bruce of Jacksonville, FL, Timothy Christian husband of Lori of Elizabethtown, and Anne Marie Conn wife of Christopher of Gilbertsville, PA. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Christian and Joan Russell, and a brother, Donald Christian.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 East Delp Road, Lancaster 17601, on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11 A.M. Family and friends will be received at the church before the mass from 10 A.M.-11 A.M. Final Commendation and Farewell will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery with military honors.
