Edward L. Gochenauer, 89, of Lancaster died Saturday morning, January 26, 2013, at his home. He was born in Lancaster to the late Walter G. and Gertie Fleming Gochen-auer. Edward enjoyed 56 years of marriage to the late Anna Mary Fritsch Gochenauer, who died in 2004. He retired in 1986 from Armstrong World Industries where he was Supervisor of the Inspection Department. Following retirement, he worked as a courier for 11 years for the law firm of Barley Snyder Senft and Cohen. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army, served in WWII, and was a member of the Lancaster VFW on Dorwart Street.He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He was an avid swimmer who enjoyed swimming at the Skyline Pool on Eden Road. He loved fishing, liked deer watching at Lancaster County Park, and at one time enjoyed golfing.Edward is survived by four daughters, all of Lancaster: Anne L. Reichenbach; Cindy L., wife of Raymond G. Berlot; Kim M., wife of Kerry L. Leaman; and Tammy L., wife of Jaime Cruz; eight grandchildren: James Reich-enbach; Christy Schmalhofer; Melissa Berlot; Jennifer Berlot; Bradley Berlot; Cody Leaman; Samantha Cruz; Tamara Cruz; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Helen Dyk of Deland, FL. He was predeceased by a son Eddie L.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edward?s Celebration of Life Funeral Service at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster (corner of West Orange and Pine Streets) on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. His family will receive friends at The Groffs on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery with military honors by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
