Frances C. Chant, 90, of New Providence, entered into rest on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at her home in the presence of loving family. She was the wife of Edgar W. Chant who preceded her in death in 1999.Frances was a color tube inspector for RCA for 33 years before retiring in 1981.She was an avid gardener, loved doing word search puzzles, playing bingo, and being around her family. She dearly loved her pet dog, Buck, and feeding neighborhood cats, birds, and squirrels.Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Frances Suter Schnader.Surviving are her son, The Reverend William C. Chant, Sr. and wife Trudy of Lancaster; a daughter, Dorothy A. Young, wife of Richard E. Young, Jr., of New Providence; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Elmer Schnader, husband of Dorothy, of Wrightsville, PA; Richard Schnader, husband of Elizabeth, of Lancaster, PA; Carl Schnader, husband of Catherine, of Lancaster, PA; and a sister, Betty Mahler, wife of the late George D. Mahler, Sr., of Lancaster, PA.She was preceded in death by her son Edgar T.E. Chant, three sisters: Mary Mumma, Leona Bickauskas, and Gloria Huber.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Frances? Celebration of Life Funeral Service at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster (corner of West Orange and Pine Streets) on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with her son The Rev. William C. Chant, Sr., officiating. Her family will receive friends at The Groffs on Monday, January 28 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
