Homeowner holds suspect at gunpoint
By Cindy Stauffer, Staff Writer cstauffer@lnpnews.com

A city resident held a burglar -- who allegedly was in his home for the second time -- at gunpoint last week until police arrived and arrested the burglar.

The first burglary happened Tuesday in the 300 block of Mill Street, city police said. After it was reported, the victim spoke to neighbors and learned they witnessed someone committing the burglary.

From the description, the victim believed he knew who the burglar was, police said.

The next day, Wednesday, the victim returned home at an unexpected time. While he was on the second floor, the suspected burglar knocked at the victim's front door and then entered the home, police said.

While family members contacted the police, the homeowner confronted the burglar on the first floor and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

Police arrested Jean Carlos Rivera-Gonzalez, 22, whose last known address was in the 400 block of St. Joseph Street.

A second suspect was seen fleeing the area in a gold, two-door Honda Accord. He was described as a light-skinned Hispanic man, possibly in his late 20s or early 30s, with green eyes.

Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call Lancaster City Police at 735-3301, or Detective Sgt. Gary Mackley at 735-3347.n
