Derek Good, Conestoga, Troop 146
Derek Good received his Eagle Scout rank at a court of honor held by Boy Scout Troop 146 on Jan. 6 at Grace Community Church, Willow Street.
He is the son of Scott and Dianna Good, of Conestoga. Derek started in Scouting with Cub Scout Pack 146, where he earned the Arrow of Light.
He moved to Troop 146 in 2005 and has served his troop in many positions, including senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, chaplain's aide, patrol leader, librarian and quartermaster. Derek has attended many Scout camps including Camp Mack, Bashore, Tuckahoe, Hawk Mountain, Rodney, Horseshoe and has participated in trips including biking the C&O Canal and the Greater Allegheny Trail and visiting the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
For his Eagle project, Derek planned and supervised the restoration of the courtyard at Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Conestoga
A senior at Penn Manor High School, Derek volunteers with the Conestoga Fire Company and works at the Conestoga Wagon Restaurant. He plans to attend college and become a police officer.n
