PM student honored for poster
A Lancaster County student was honored recently by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for educating peers about underage drinking.
Casie Johnson, a ninth-grade student at Penn Manor High School, was recently recognized at a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda.
Johnson was one of 600 students from 30 counties across the state who participated in the PLCB's 21st annual Alcohol Education Poster Contest.
Johnson's poster, titled "Don't Let Alcohol Consume You," was among 40 selected as winners of the contest based on presentation and message. She received a $50 cash award.
The PLCB will use the students' designs to create posters, bookmarks and coloring sheets to share with students throughout Pennsylvania. In addition, the winners will have their artwork reproduced in a calendar.
