Absurd response to outhouse
TO THE EDITOR:
In reference to "Outhouse Blues" (Sunday News, April 28), it's too bad state and local officials have nothing better to do. A cow out back of the barn pollutes more than Wilson Huyett does. But, I don't see why he would have to spend so much money.
There are other ways to combat the problem. Using an electric toilet would solve the problem and be environmentally friendly at the same time. Also, a lot cheaper. They are called, Incinolet incinerating toilets -- no digging, no plumbing, no water. They are sanitary and odorless, it reduces waste to clean ash. I know people who have one, and they like it. It's quiet and efficient. Cost is approximately $2,000.
Just think how much water we would save if everyone had one. I feel bad for Mr. Huyett. At his age, he doesn't need this treatment. I hope someone tells him about this; he needs someone to care.
