Walter L. Armer, Jr.
Walter L. Armer, Jr., age 91, of Lancaster, PA passed away at Lancashire Hall of Lancaster on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. He was born in Quarryville, PA, son of the late Walter L. Sr. & Mabel S. Haubert Armer. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Lancaster. He was employed by Peoples Drug Stores and worked in Washington, DC as a Cafeteria and Coffee Shop manager for 25 years. Later he was transferred to their main office as Restaurant Supervisor for all of their food operations until retirement in 1986. Walter was a W.W. II veteran serving in the European Theater with the 76th Infantry Division earning the Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by nephew, Charles Armer. He leaves behind nieces and nephews, Terrance Armer, Karen Armer Kahn, and Kenneth Armer, Jr.; great-nephews, Michael Armer (Eunice), Curt Armer (Ashley); great-nieces, Christian Armer and Shawnna Armer.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Charles W. & Kenneth T. Armer.
Graveside service will take place at the Middle Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, PA on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by the Shivery Funeral Home, Inc., Christiana & Paradise.shiveryfuneralhome.com
