Viet vets stand with all veterans
TO THE EDITORS:
On behalf of the 70-plus members of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 1008, Lancaster County, we want to thank staff writer Jack Brubaker for writing "Vietnam memories."
While the Vietnam War may have taken place over 40 years ago, many of today's young people have little knowledge of this war and the troubled times our nation endured in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The Vietnam Veterans of America pledges service to America and our motto is, "Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another."
All Vietnam veterans today greet each other with "Welcome home, brother or sister.'' This gesture was not bestowed on those returning home from their tour of duty during the Vietnam War.
We are proud to stand with those brave men and women who serve in our Armed Forces today and say, "Welcome home."
