Pamela Bard (Tomey)
Pamela Bard (Tomey), 55, of Downingtown, PA was taken from us suddenly on April 18th, 2013. Born in Chester County on February 10th, 1958, Pam is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Rodney Bard, whom she met while employed for several years at Handi-Crafters. Pam is also survived by her daughter Faith Stoltzfus, son Rodney Stoltzfus, and 7 grandchildren.Pam enjoyed spending time with her sister and best friend, Stephanie Gurley, playing with the cats, which she cared for, spending time with her family and preparing big family holiday meals. Pam enjoyed being an active member of Speaking for Ourselves, an advocacy group for IDD individuals. She advocated for those who needed extra love, care, and kindness, because, like her, they suffered from disabilities. She received many plaques and awards for her work and accomplishments while advocating for other IDD Pennsylvanians with Speaking for Ourselves. "Thank you, Mom, for being a loving and caring woman. I will miss our time together, and wish we would have had more. I am glad that before you left us we had time to become closer in our relationship. A small service will be held at the Thorndale Fire Hall, in Caln Township, on May 7th, 2013. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 6:30 p.m., and the service will start at 7 p.m.
