With warm weather comes the great tradition of yard sales, in which one group of people buys the stuff that other people no longer want or need.
Want to entice more passersby? Try this:
u Stage similar items together. Keep kids' toys together; keep all electronics near an outlet for testing.
v Keep it safe. Make sure outdoor and garage items are out of children's reach, and tie up cords to reduce tripping hazards.
w Monitor your money. Cash can get lost in the shuffle, especially if you're part of a group sale. Count and separate your change before shoppers arrive, and secure the money in a safe and convenient place -- a tool apron is one option.
