Repeal wage law to fund Pa. roads
TO THE EDITORS:
It was interesting reading about how state Rep. Mike Sturla (D-Lancaster) plans to get more funds for bridge and road repairs.
I would like to suggest to Mr. Sturla that he introduce a second bill when he returns to Harrisburg. Why not introduce a bill to eliminate the prevailing-wage law?
Think how much more bridge and road repair work could be done if we were not forced to pay these inflated wages on projects funded with our tax dollars.
If we are in a funding crisis, as Mr. Sturla suggests, why isn't the repeal of the prevailing-wage law at the top of the list? No state or municipality or school district can afford to pay these inflated wages any longer.
