Recycling everybody's responsibility
TO THE EDITORS:
I am a concerned citizen with a question: With whom do I speak about a personal, moral and legal dilemma?
I believe recycling is everyone's responsibility. We have been taught the importance of this concerning the environment and future generations. I have noticed that many businesses in our area do not practice this. Not even all townships have curb pick-up.
I went to the beaches for many years. Delaware has a designated area in residential developments, shopping malls have containers placed next to trash, clearly marked.
While shopping at Lancaster area outlets, I observed store employees dumping merchandise into a trash compactor. Why isn't this placed in Goodwill collection boxes? Charity donations are a tax write-off and this is all part of "Go Green.''
I ask my fellow citizens, speak to the trash hailer, contact the township where you live. Ask the stores where you shop. Almost everything can be recycled. Together we can make this happen. The ripple effect works.
