Mayors pass the blame on guns
TO THE EDITORS:
When law enforcement pulls over a drunk driver, he doesn't let the offender go, then blame the automobile or the auto manufacturer for the violation. That's what Mayors Against Illegal Guns is doing about gun violence in America. They would rather use smoke and mirrors to pass the blame instead of enforcing existing gun laws.
Chicago has very strict gun laws and still has the worst gun violence. Mayor Rahm Emanuel knows he would not be re-elected if he enforced existing gun laws because too many of his supporters would end up in prison.
So, instead of ridding the streets of crime, it's easier to do nothing and say he's against illegal guns, because guns can't vote.
We, the law-abiding gun owners in America can vote. We didn't cause this mess and Mayors Against Illegal Guns knows this. If we don't speak up, they will continually use their magic to slowly strip us of our rights little by little.
As Ted Nugent says: "If guns cause crime, all mine are defective."
