An article in the March 28 edition about the statue in front of the former Stahr Armory building stated a number of "Spirit of the American Doughboy" statues were produced by sculptor E.M. Viquesney. In fact, because of poor recordkeeping and multiple unauthorized copies, it is unknown how many statues were produced and sold to communities across the country by Viquesney, the online E.M. Viquesney Doughboy Database states.
A March 25 graphic that ran with a series on historic preservation said the World Monuments Fund in 1997 placed Lancaster County on a bi-annual list of the world's 100 places most endangered by unmanaged development. It actually was a biennial list of sites endangered by many factors.
