n Samantha Sherman graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., where she majored in arts management.
A 2008 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, she is the daughter of Jill and Michael Sherman of Lancaster.
n The following area residents were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Miami University:
Victor James Magro of Lititz, Corey Thomas Zavilla of Lancaster and Jordan Elizabeth Long of Lancaster.
n Stefani R. Helm was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Duquesne University, where she is majoring in health management systems.
A Lancaster Catholic High School graduate, she is the daughter of Steve and Chris Helm.
n Adele M. Grabowski was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, where she is majoring in vocal performance and global studies.
A graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, she is the daughter of Robert and Diane Grabowski.
n Jordan Brooks of Lancaster was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he is majoring in literature.
n Heather Hollow of Mountville was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she has a double major in international studies and Spanish.
A 2012 graduate of Hempfield High School, she is the daughter of Tom and Deb Hollow.
n Rachel Woods was named to the dean's list for the fall at semester at West Chester University, where she is a junior majoring in communications in the College of Arts and Sciences.
A 2010 graduate of Ephrata High School, she is the daughter of John and Carolyn Woods.
n Falon Deimler of Ephrata was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Gettysburg College.
n The following area residents were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Savannah College of Art and Design:

Olivia von Nieda of Ephrata; Gavin Noritsky of Lititz; Matthew Bechtel of Lititz; Scott Steinmetz of Lancaster; Ashley Vassell of Lancaster; David Kingsley of Honey Brook; and William Wenrich of Mohnton.
n Nathaniel Mentzer was named an honor student in the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where he is majoring in mechanical engineering.
A graduate of Lampeter- Strasburg High School, he is the son of Daniel and Angela Mentzer of Lampeter.
n Kathy Daisy of Lancaster was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi at Ohio University, where she is majoring in nursing.
n Cecile Madonna of Elizabethtown, a senior graphic design major at Susquehanna University, was awarded two Gold ADDYS, a Silver ADDY and the Student Judge's ADDY at the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation Student ADDY Awards held on Feb. 23 in Frederick, Md.
The annual ADDY competition recognizes creative excellence in advertising by both students and professionals.
A 2009 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, she is the daughter of Craig and Pamela Madonna.
n The following area residents from Millersville University recently competed and received top honors in the 2013 International Corrugated Packaging Foundation "Best of the Best" package design competition held in conjunction with the "Careers in Corrugated" teleconference on Feb. 20:
Drew Kramer of Ephrata, a senior; Dan Sparkes of Lancaster, a senior; and Erin Sensenig of Lancaster, a senior.
The team of Kramer, Bryan Parrish and Sparkes took top honors with the team of Sensenig and Nolan Myers coming in a close second.
