Police have charged an Ephrata man who was captured after a vehicle pursuit through three municipalities.
Michael Carter, 37, was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding, reckless endangerment and reckless driving, after police pursued his vehicle along Route 222 from Ephrata Borough and Township into West Earl Township on Tuesday night.
He was placed in Lancaster County Prison.
The incident began when police responded to a call in the 100 block of Hurst Drive in Ephrata Borough.
Carter fled the scene in a vehicle, getting onto Route 222 southbound.
His vehicle struck an Ephrata police cruiser, police said, then crossed the median into the opposing lanes of travel.
He abandoned the vehicle just before the Stone Quarry Road overpass and was apprehended.
