Critical of Pa. lawmakers' travel
TO THE EDITORS:
So, I am so supposed to believe that trips to such places as Nova Scotia, Taiwan and Taipei will better prepare our local lawmakers to deal with the challenges which their constituents face?
Somehow I find that statement to be quite farfetched. But if it is true, then perhaps they should send the people they represent on such trips and we can learn something, as well.
This type of reckless spending merely highlights the dysfunction within our government at a time when most people have to really tighten their belts and cutbacks for such things as education and nonprofits are making life difficult for so many.
