Bands will perform the next two weekends at a pair of fundraisers to benefit Lt. Andre Kelley, the Lancaster city firefighter who was injured while trying to rescue a woman and a child who perished in a row house fire on Feb. 18.

Four bands will perform Saturday at the Village nightclub, 205 N. Christian St., beginning at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Jet City Vega, Julian Fist, Steel Kitty and Take 147 will perform, and also on hand will be radio personalities from 92.7 WKZF and 101 The Rose.

The benefit is sponsored by the Lancaster Professional Firefighters Association, Local 319 and the union's ladies auxiliary. It benefits Kelley and firefighter Tom Bender, who also was injured in the East Madison Street blaze.

Donations will be accepted at the door, and T-shirts will be sold to benefit the firefighters.

On Sunday, March 24, beginning at 1 p.m., the Rainmakers Association will hold a benefit concert at 700 E. Chestnut St.

The Blue Dragons and the Party Bombs will perform. A silent auction also will be held. Anyone interested in donating items to the auction can call Jamie Eshelman at 327-5187.

Kelley suffered burns to 40 percent of his body. He is recovering at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Delaware County.

Bender and firefighter Craig Robertson suffered less severe injuries.

Donations also can be made directly to: Andre Kelley Fund, P.O. Box 1235, Lancaster, PA 17608. Checks should be made out to the Andre Kelley Fund.
