Esther R. Sauder Rutt, 86, of Landis Homes, formerly of Mount Joy, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Bob Fryer Inpatient Center, Mount Joy. Her late husband, Warren S. Rutt, died in 2001. She will be missed by her daughter, Marlene F. (Marlin) Martin of Lebanon and her sons, Galen L. (Joan Byers) Rutt of Landisville and Merle E. (Christel Grill) Rutt of Mount Joy. Her five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren will miss her visits.A native of New Holland, Esther and Warren moved to Mount Joy in 1957 and became members of the Mount Joy Mennonite Church. Esther was a faithful member of the church and

the Ladies Sewing Circle. Her hands touched many comforters as the women knotted them for delivery to MCC and points around the world. She later worked for Engle Printing and Publishing, Inc., Mount Joy from 1975 until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed quilting and traveling but most important was the special time she spent with her children and their children. She is also survived by her siblings, Arthur (Elaine Sensenig) Sauder, Alice Sauder and Anna (Norman) Wenger, all of Ephrata, Melvin (Brenda Wolf) Sauder of Denver; Lester (Ann Bauman) Sauder of New Holland; Irene Martin of Akron. Her older brother, Raymond, preceded her in death.A Memorial Service honoring Esther's life will be held from the West Bethany Chapel of Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. Esther will be interred beside Warren in a private family service in Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, East Donegal Township. The Rutt family will receive friends immediately following the service in the West Community Room at Landis Homes.
