"Chuck" Shirley Charles H. "Chuck" Shirley, 86, of Lancaster and formerly of Millers-ville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Conestoga View, Lancaster. He was married to Marilyn A. (Husson) Shirley on April 24, 1949.Born May 22, 1926, in Atlanta, GA, he grew up as one of twelve children and was the son of the late Della (Stroupe) Short. Chuck worked as a Data Processor at Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster, retiring in 1996. He was also a long-time and active member of Zion Church of Millersville where he served as Youth Leader, sang in the choir, and filled several other roles.Mr. Shirley was active in Boy Scouts, was an umpire and a Little League Coach. He was also an avid bowler and coin collector.In addition to his wife of over 63 years, he will be lovingly missed by two sons, Michael T. Shirley, husband of Robin, of Lancaster and Richard C. Shirley, husband of Valerie, of Millersville; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as his extended family and caring friends.A Celebration of Chuck?s life will be held at Zion Church of Millersville, 317 North George Street, Millersville, PA 17551, on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 2 PM (Visitation 1-2 PM) with Pastor Stephen P. Cote officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial Remembrances can be made in Chuck?s memory to Zion Church of Millersville.
