TO THE EDITORS:

I appreciate the article highlighting the high school musicals. What rich talent we're fortunate to have.

Kudos to Hempfield High School for an excellent production of "Carousel."

Students and adults alike deserve congratulations for the most spectacular program I've ever seen at the high school level. Where else can you spend $8 or $10 for a Broadway show that would cost $140?

The Maine accents were perfect and understandable. Voices, dancing, orchestra, sets, props, costumes -- all were outstanding.

Special kudos to Michael Duschl, principal male lead as Billy Bigelow. The range of his baritone was amazing.

Thanks, Hempfield, for providing such a rich experience in our area.
