Investigators: Man tells city police he shot an officer Nobody was shot, and man is charged with false reports

A Lancaster man barricaded himself inside a city home for about 45 minutes Monday morning after saying he had shot a police officer, investigators said.
Brian Blank, 37, called 911 around 4:45 a.m. and claimed he had shot a city officer, city police Lt. James Smith said. No officer had been shot, and police did not say why they suspected Blank had made the claim.
Police responded to Blank's home in the 500 block of North Shippen Street and found him barricaded inside.
Police spoke to Blank, but he had been drinking alcohol and was uncooperative for a time, Smith said.
Police convinced Blank to come out of the house around 5:30 a.m., and he was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during his arrest.
No one else was in the home, and no one else was injured during the incident, Smith said.
Blank will be charged with disorderly conduct and making false reports to law enforcement.
