Barnes, Jr.Anthony Lee Barnes, Jr., 56, of Peach Bottom, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at home. Born in Red Bank, NJ, he was the son of the late Anthony Lee Barnes, Sr. and Mary M. DeLacruz. He was the husband of Susan Schrier Barnes with whom he celebrated 26 years of marriage.Anthony served in the U.S. Air Force following high school and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Master's Degree. He served 30 years with the U.S. Army as a civilian computer scientist. He retired in 2012 from his last position at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Anthony was a past member of Congregation Bnai Israel of Toms River, NJ. He was a member of the Coffee Roasters Association. Anthony was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed indoor archery, bass fishing, camping, and anything outdoors.In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his son, David Barnes of Fort Riley, KS; his daughter, Michelle Barnes of Peach Bottom, PA; two sisters: Kathleen Barnes wife of Steve Finkel of St. Louis, MO and Eileen Barnes of Toms River, NJ; a brother, William husband of Diane Barnes of Havre de Grace, MD, and five step siblings: Steve, Tim, Angie, Joe and Scott.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Anthony?s Funeral Service on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street (corner of Orange and Pine Streets), Lancaster with the Rabbi Jack Paskoff officiating. The family will receive friends at The Groffs from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Shaarai Shomayim Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Anthony?s name to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N.
