Shirley Kilhefner, 84, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence of Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. She had been in failing health for the past year.She was born in Ephrata to the late John H. Peters, husband of Ethel D. (Wetzel) Peters and Pearl M. (Ream) Staffieri, wife of the late Michael J. Staffieri and was the wife of Kenneth L. ­Kilhefner with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.After graduating from

S. Horace Scott Senior High School, Coatesville, class of 1946, Shirley had been employed at Lukens Steel Company, Coatesville, Sperry-New Holland, New Holland and Animal Trap Company of America, Lititz. She subsequently became a full-time homemaker. During her early life, she lived mostly in the Ephrata area and later lived for 20 years in Chambersburg, before retiring to the Spring Hill Acres development in Lebanon County.In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Kurt L. Kilhefner of Lebanon, Kris L., wife of Nicholas A. Bradley Sr. of Lebanon, Eric K. Kilhefner of Ephrata; a granddaughter, Kelsey L. Kilhefner; a step grandson, Nicholas A. Bradley Jr.; a step granddaughter, Rachael Bradley and a foster brother, Bradley C., husband of Suzanne Sommerer of Robersonville, NC.Services will be private at the convenience of the family.Memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/Ephrata.
