A ninth person in Lancaster County has died from flu-related causes this season, the state Department of Health reported Tuesday.

The news comes as influenza activity continues to slow locally, statewide and across the country.

Through last week, there have been 1,525 confirmed flu cases in Lancaster County and 32,368 in Pennsylvania.

Overall, 140 people have perished from the flu in the commonwealth, according to the health department. The only counties with more deaths than Lancaster are Philadelphia, 13, and Allegheny, 10.
