Blue Jays knock off Stevenson E-town 64, Stevenson 50

Ben Cable scored a game-high 21 points on Tuesday night as host Elizabethtown College defeated Stevenson, 64-50, in Commonwealth Conference men's basketball.

Andrew Mantz added 16 points and matched teammate Lee Eckert with a game-high 10 rebounds for the Blue Jays (8-16 overall, 5-12 CC), who halted a four-game losing streak.

Elizabethtown took a 24-20 halftime lead and stretched it in the second half, aided by a 49-31 rebounding advantage. The Jays shot 41 percent from the field (24 for 58), while holding Stevenson to 33 percent (20 for 60).

Stefon McCray scored 16 points and Tyson Jacobs added 11 to lead the Mustangs, who had beaten four straight conference opponents entering Tuesday night's game.

Elizabethtown closes its season on Saturday against Albright at 4 p.m. in Thompson Gym.
