Margaret M. Johnson

Margaret "Peggy" (Morrow) Johnson, 89, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Glen at Willow Valley. She was the wife of Arling "Johnny" H. Johnson with whom she was married thirty-one years. Her first husband, Evan R. Morrow, D.D.S., died in 1967. Peggy established the tennis program at the Upper Main Line YMCA and was a professional instructor at various clubs in the Delaware Valley.Born December 3, 1923 in E. Norriton Twp., Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late E. Walter and Margaret L. (Sheldon) Hudson. She graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls and later from Ursinus College in 1945. Peggy was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Millersville, where she participated in Bible study, the Joyful Hearts Club and volunteered with Millersville Area Meals-on-Wheels. She played golf at the Conestoga Country Club and played tennis three times a week until age 84. She was a weekly volunteer with the S. June Smith Center for thirty years.Surviving in addition to her husband are three children: Evan Scot Morrow married to Patricia A., of New Market, MD, Margaret Virginia married to Christopher J. Guy, of Sibford Ferris, England and Nancy Ann Morrow married to Evan Meyer, of Philadelphia; two step-children, Richard Johnson married to Elaine, of Atlanta, GA and Judith A. Frank, of Narragansett, RI; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one sister, Virginia married to C. Brooks Oakford, of Cinnaminson, NJ. Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Millersville, 121 N. George Street, Millersville, PA 17551 on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:30AM (Viewing 10:30-11:30AM). Interment will be in the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial Remembrances can be made in Peggy?s memory to the S.
